I'm not too interested in a Stock Car series without tuning. Or tracks that are too short.

That's up to you. I felt the need for something that puts most on equal footing, especially with so many new members at TORA lately. The site has grown by nearly a thousand in the past 12 months.

I'm not a fan of stock tuning, either.

I did not have a good experience the last time Unca and I participated in a TASCAR event.  It was at the big track that doesn't have pits.  Not at all what I was used to experiencing at IFCA, GLR, or VM.  I thought about trying the ARCA event, but saw no tuning and said, nah.  Perhaps qualifying would be able to separate the more experienced stock car drivers from the newer, less experienced drivers.  But, it's your series and you can make the rules.  Hope it goes well.  Smile

I was going to go with the VM drag tires builds, but thought about how much time it takes to tune for that... and that oval newbies might have the same reaction to tuning as you guys are having to stock tunes. And myself: I'd rather spend my limited time tuning for Trans Am than for ARCA.

I remember that TASCAR Benchmark race very well... a caution fest. I almost won it, was passing the leader two wheels under the line in turn 4 on the last lap, only to get hit in the left rear by someone obviously four wheels under the line. I was beyond livid.  Bang Head

Yeah, Unca and I were out to a HUGE lead from the start since we qualified in the front row (I think).  I know we practiced how we were going to attack the start of the race.  In any event, the whole "one car caution" thing really blew that up.  Otherwise, I don't think we could have been beaten.

That last lap of that race was horrible!!   Explode

I have to say that was possibly the worst race I have ever seen at TORA.

You have to take the good with the bad. Everywhere I've ever raced I've had races that were fantastic and others that were nightmares.

MAKO, that Benchmark race was the worst I have ever had in FM2, FM3, or FM4.  Nothing has been as "interesting" as that one.

I need to buy me some luck.

Controller fail twice on lap 1 of Sebring, then got 100% rear aero lap 2 of Road Atlanta. I think Mako was in the same boat, but the Corvette w/o rear aero is like driving on ice.

Your luck can only get better bud!! And yes, the Vette is a handful w/o rear aero. Lost 2-3 seconds on a good lap. Was a frustrating night for sure as I had a much better car and was faster than many of the cars in front of me. I was off all day yesterday for some reason, so I guess I'm lucky I got what I did. On to next week.

Well, let me say that I am sorry for getting into the backside of both MAKO and Tom.  I lost most of my front aero causing my car push.  It's good the race was only 25 laps because I was having trouble with rear spring damage as the race progressed and my driving prowess (  Shocked Rolling Eyes ) was diminishing as well.

I'm bummed I couldn't get that last qualy lap clean.  I could have started higher on the grid and perhaps finished better.

It's racing Neo, all is forgiven. I kind of snapped out of frustration as Windcharger had already gotten into me causing rear damage. The car was still controllable at that point and I knew I could move forward. When you got into me I knew my aero would be almost gone. I wasn't really mad at you, honest.  Cool

I was wondering if I could talk someone into running tomorrow's TORA ARCA race at Indy. I'm down two teammates, and am in dire need of a sub.

Nothing official, just a fun night on FM4 in US West Coast Primetime:

Tonight I am hosting a "Clubman Rules" lobby in US time (10PM Eastern)

Simple rules: C Class, 200 max HP, 2200 Lbs min weight, no Forza aero.

Race lengths of 4-6 laps on various circuits. This always ends up fun.

These cars/builds have been used as "Clubman C Cup" on TORA, but were developed and ran for years by Grassroots Motorsports Magazine to resemble a mix of SCCA production car classes. No "sign in" or anything like that, just show up and race if you so desire.

After a couple of series featuring relatively big, heavy, high powered American V8s, I think its time for some grassroots level stuff.

That being said, next up after Trans Am is Spec Miata.

I really dislike the Miata, but I'll probably race it. How about a truck series? Or Mini Cooper?

I did a spec Miata series at VM and it was a lot of fun. That said, there are a ton of cars that we have never used. Maybe pick something completely different?
